I am in the midst of creating an AVP Style Breastplate with Sternum Armor and thought someone might be interested in knowing how I am creating this on the cheaps.

So far, I have spent $10.00 (not including my Dremel)

Tools and Material you will need:
Camping Foam Mattress NZ$5.00
Craft Knife
Hot Melt Glue $5.00
Needle & Thread - Wife's Sewing Kit
Vivid Marker
Measuring Tape
Dremel with Sanding Attachment (already had it)

Please bear in mind, I have yet to coat it in Latex a few times and add some detail using the Dremel.

1 - Measure from your Waist to your Shoulders.
2 - Lay Camping Foam flat and take measurement and double it. Cut foam.
3 - Fold foam in half and cut hole for head.
4 - Put square foam cutout over head of wife.
5 - Take pic of Predator and draw shape of Breastplate onto foam using Vivid Marker.
6 - Cut outline of Breatplate using Craft Knife.

7 - Use Dremel to shape foam to look like layered
8 - Sew sides together using some HMG and the Needle & Thread

9 - Cut extra pieces of foam and HMG them to Breastplate.

The following is a pic of my BP from behind.
You will notice that I have added the centre piece which I will detail later.

And here is the Sternum Plate which fits nicely and I'll use Velcro for that.

Once I've finished detailing it, I'll get some Latex and brush a few layers both inside and out.
Finally will be the paint job.

I estimate this piece to cost no more than say NZ$100.00 once completed.

Feel free to make any comments.

Thanks to Immortal for the texture idea which I saw on his amazing Shuriken Blades.

I used my Dremel with the Spherical Diamond Cutting attachment, being careful not to gouge the foam too deep.

Question: I lost the mixing formula for my silicone and so mixed up a batch guessing the amount of hardener. It seems I didn't add enough hardener for the amount of silicone I had and my silicone is setting, but very slowly (overnight so far).
Will it ever set properly given time or should I scoop it back out and start again?
I was only molding some cleaned up chicken bones for my necklace, so no sculpting time will be lost.

TIA!!
