Different styles of bio weathering...which do you prefer?

I've been painting a couple of bios, waiting for the side details to be ready to be fitted, and I've experimented with two different styles of weathering. Hopefully neither person will be unhappy when they open the box, but what do you think?

I'm betting the 2nd was done w a sponge. It looks just like the one I did when I used a sponge. I prefer the 1st one, but I'd like think that you need to do a third which combines the two styles...;)

Sponge and sandpaper. 1 point each. ;)

I combined the two as far as applying the scorch marks go, but I could certainly mix the two techniques on a broader scale. Next time I have one to finish for someone I might just try it.

i think it depends on what your going for.
the first looks like its jsut seen battle with scortch marks.
the other one jsut looks like it has wear and tear from age.
i think their both really nice, sorry to be a fence sister ;)
