Jaw Bone Bio Mask

So, like many of you, I didn't win Wreav's Jaw-Bone bio mask give away on FB (sad day...lol). Today, to get over the extreme heart break of the loss (kidding) I started in my own!

My predator mask is actually a polyurethane helmet, so to speak, I chickened out on casting latex, but a going to attempt it when I finish with this project. Anyway, this allowed me to put tin foil over the ridged surface of my mask, tape it down and start modelling a bio mask that will look great with my mask. More pictures to come!

I also want to add that this community has been awesome with helpful tips, tricks and advice for an unblooded noob like myself, thanks again to all!

You know, as lame as it sounds, I really like the original colours from the movie, I know it's really reaching outside the box (lol) but I am going to try to stay as close as possible, maybe a gun metal grey or something?

When you will already have primered mask - make pictures and play with colors in photoshop. it gives you more space for work)

That is actually a good idea! Thank you! I never thought about using photoshop! Easier to paint and erase if I need to...lol

Quick question I forgot to ask: can anyone turn me onto a link, or some ideas, on how to secure this biomask to my mask? I keep hearing magnets, which could work. However, both my bio mask and mask are made out of hard plastic, so I am not sure that method will work as well? Any suggestions would be great!

Aside from magnets the only thing I can think of would be strategically placed velcro ... but this "double helmet" scenario will probably prove to be difficult either way with magnets or not ... :/

Any updates on this? :) Anyway, just piggybacking on Wreavs comment about the N52 magnets..they Hella' strong!!!

I'm planning to use 2x 30mm and 2x 20 ones, but, strategically place, 2 should be enough..

Getting close to casting: going to try to do this mask in smooth cast plastic friday. Might even get to it this afternoon. The magnets sound like the way to go on this honestly!

Ok so I am getting close! Hopefully going to cast in the next few days! I am not exactly a sculptor, so I am debating on wether or not to keep plugging away at smoothing and evening surfaces before casting, or just casting then fixing the plastic with sanding after the fact. A more accurate mold is probably for the best so I will have some more images up here before to long!
