Love your clean foam work Red2
I was just thinking I should try and slow down to be more precise, but if it looks clean to you then I'm stoked! Thanks, Vebo1!

OMG. Mad scramble mode to Wednesday!

More back pack:

About to reinforce this mount now.

This may look better in the pic, than in person. I got the hang of painting the fabric about 10 minutes into starting. I totally spaced and forgot to test paint on a covered area. Ah, well.

Feet are almost done! Just need to paint the sandal straps.

Thanks, guys! Appreciate all the support.

Two more late nights to go. And it's supposed to rain here in Austin Wednesday. Great. It rained last year too but not enough to rain us out. Anyone have yautja poncho design?

Pack is painted. I may add more detail to it afterwards but this passes Halloween muster.

At work messing with the wrist blades. Doesn't look like actuation is going to happen. Need to get both gauntlets finished by tonight, and if I have time, try to build a bio-mask one more time tonight.

No biggie. These builds are always a learning process.

Okay, got rained out! Which is good, cause although the suit is perfectly ready for trick or treating, I wanted to get some last minute details in. Was up till 3 this morning and almost 2 the night before! I'm so excited.

Here was her test fit last night before dinner.

Just quilled him up now. Ended up using polymer clay. Rolled them out, made points, baked in the oven for 20 minutes. Wife made these for me. I showed her how to make one and she made the rest. :)

So my neighborhood has teamed up and decided to do a Halloween do-over tonight. Awesome!!

Daughter wakes up this morning with 103° fever.

Doh.

First and foremost i hope she feels better. But that sucks for her. I know it came at the worst possible time and she was super excited. Well if not this year hopefully next Halloween will be better.

We made it out last night!

Last minute decision to participate in our neighborhood Halloween do-over (which was a great community effort, super thankful).

Hurried home and quickly hobble her wrist computer together cause I had taken it apart at lunch to install LEDs. Coached my wife on getting her dressed, and with some small adjustments out the door we went. Had to hot glue the back pack to chest cause the Velcro was not able to withstand the dread movement. This was the first time she suited up fully and even walked around for more than 30 seconds so it was expected to be a learning experience.

Still a bunch of details to add, chest net, trophy necklace, redo the cannon, etc.

She loved it.

Bravo on a great job. I guess now its your turn . lol
Thanks, guys!

Maybe, Vebo1. Though my short stature always prevented me from truly wanting to build a suit for myself, this experience has maybe swayed me a bit.
But from here I will prioritize learning to sculpt with clay! Taking a class this Spring.

I hope to finalize this suit, get the mini-xeno back up and running and take some AvP pics and hopefully get them out to a con.

What did you use as the plasmacaster arm? Sorry if that's been asked already.
I found a toy fire truck at the thrift store that had a swiveling 2 part crane arm and robbed it off of there. There's pics earlier in the thread. Go to a couple thrift shops and check the toy section for a toy fire truck or crane toy, you're bound to find something similar.
